TWO WINES FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Barbaresco and Barbera "Galanera"
«Two "noble" wines for special occasions»
BARBERA D’ASTI DOCG SUPERIORE GALANERA
The most distinguishing note of the Barbera d’Asti is its freshness: that pleasant rush which, at every sip, calls for another one.
The “Superiore” version completes its freshness with a sensational complexity given by the various wood transfers. As in the case of the Galanera, a Barbera d’Asti DOCG Superiore from Duchessa Lia, a winery located in Santo Stefano Belbo, in the Langhe, engaged in the production of the most noble Piedmont wines and sparkling wines: 14 months of aging, most of which spent in oak barrels, which endows it with a grandeur for the great occasions.
Bring Galanera to the table to pair with stuffed pasta: agnolotti with meat sauce, ravioli, cappelletti or tortellini. Galanera also matches gnocchi with Castelmagno, lasagna and – why not – a classic tagliatelle dish.
Cotechino, braised and roasted meat, ossobuco. Not to mention stuffed guinea fowl and capon, traditional recipes that – on their own – are enough to start the party.
These are remarkable dishes whose flavours require a drink that can withstand its tastiness. Something like the Barbaresco DOCG from Duchessa Lia, a winery located in Santo Stefano Belbo, in the Langhe, engaged in the production of the most noble Piedmont wines and sparkling wines: elegant, mellow and complex. A wine of outstanding structure but capable of unexpected delicacy: the Barbaresco hills are made up of clay-limestone and sandstone marls, a mix that gives wines power and aroma, character and finesse. To be brought to the table to impress fellow diners, it is a wine that goes with strong dishes without overloading them.
